So I'm an almost 18 y/o new rider (gotta wait till February), don't have a bike yet, but I'm working my a** off to save up for one. I plan to take the MSF course near where I live and hopefully, when I'm ready, buy a bike. However it would be nice to connect with and have a sort of "mentor" or "senior" biker to help me along with the process as I only know what I do from research I have done on this site and else-where.

What I'm wondering is if there are any riders in or around the Northeast, Ohio (Cleveland-ish area) that would be willing to maybe connect, meet up, and lend me some advice and guidance through the process.

One thing I'm most concerned about is that being as I work 30hrs/wk for minimum wage (comes out to about $6.50 after taxes), I don't want to be buying a smaller bike and quickly moving up as I won't have the funds or ability to do so. Therefore, I'm looking to get a 600, leaning toward a used gsxr. Therefore, I would really like someone with more than enough riding experience to show me the ropes and help me out.

Oh hey! It's great that I found someone in cleveland so quickly!
I'm in the "Greater-Cleveland" area, in Orange/Beachwood between Solon and Mayfield.
So where are you at in Cleveland?! Closer to downtown itself, or more Greater Cleveland.
I'd really appreciate if you were willing to sit down with me sometime just to talk about things and get some advice from someone with actual experience.

Budget-wise it all depends on when I want to buy a bike.
I have around $1500 saved by now and by around December I should have around $2500
If I decide to hold off till summer time I'm hoping to have at least around $5-6000 saved

Hey if you don't mind riding with some old guys we'd be happy to have you tag along. We typically ride out in your area (Specifically Hunting Valley). There's usually a couple cops in the group so, we pretty much can get out of simple "issues" if they arise. That's not to say we ride like idiots because we do not and we always wear gear.

Since I'm lazy and only clear enough driveway for the cars I had to shovel a path to the garage. It was worth it to get the FZ6 out considering I rode it to the dealership to trade it in on a new (left-over)'08 Aprilia Tuono. Now I can't wait for this season to break for good. :banana
