I was at Maple Grove last year, and the fuel rails are amazing. The 1000ft rule sucks ass. I grew up in Atco, NJ, which is a much nicer track then Englishtown, but doesn't have the highway access or hotels. Just take away the smaller venues, and downsize the motors from 500 to 350 and take the Nitro from 90 or 95% down to 75% to slow them down if they are becoming uncontrolable.

They did downsize the Nitro, but they were damaging too many parts, so they upped them again. I was at Englishtown when Scott Kalitta was killed(car's body blew off right in front of us).

You said that already. What a tragedy. And an avoidable one. Downsizing the blocks is the way to go. I just can't get behind he 1000 feet. Atco's track is almost a full half mile AFTER the 1/4 lights.

I think it will take more than reducing engine size, but doubt they will do that. Some of the classes have b***** motors than the TF's but run slower. Yeah VMP here has over a 1/2 mile of shutdown. If you can't get it stopped, there is no stopping it:D

I go to ORP at Indy every year. Took the girlfriend this year... and didn't warn her before the first top fuel went down the track. I still don't know that she's forgiven me. :D Never get tired or used to those things bending time flying down the track. And you've got to love the fan access. Thanks for the shots, man. :)

Ha ha ha.:lao

Our son loves looking at the cars but at 8 and when they fire them up, it scares the living shit out of him:lao Even when we race on Friday nights it can be a little loud for him but nothing like that.

In 2007 the wifey and I went to Englishtown and left him with her sister so we could go and really enjoy it all. When he found out, boy he was pissed:lao

For your viewing pleasure
Index of /images/NHRA08
