I've been telling Minx for 2 years that I thought the Street Triple R was the bike for her - I know I'd love to have one.

So yesterday we went to test ride a nice one, Triumph Dealer Display bike, new, but with 600 miles and already has the Triumph goodies. (seat, Pipes. Screen, Belly pan)

She loves it,. and it's now in the shop with the rest of our stable. I really think Triumph has a great bike here, and people are missing out on it when they look for a new bike.

I sat on one recently and it fit me PERFECT I loved it and it's currently #1 on my list of possible future bikes, followed by the Suzuki Gladius, and Kawasaki ER6N.

BTW for reference I'm +5' 8" with a -30" inseam.

I bought a Streety in November after about a year and 10,000 miles on a Ninja 650 (AKA ER6F). Let me just tell you those bikes are two completely different animals. Throttle response on the Trumpet is a LOT quicker and it is a lot more touchy and less forgiving. The Kawi is a great bike to learn on and is very comfortable and a lot more forgiving of small mistakes. I dont know what your experience level is or exactly what you're looking for, but just wanted to let you know the Street Triple and the Kawi 650s are in two totally separate classes. I believe the Gladius fits in more with the Kawi as well.

I love both the Street and my old 650, the 650 was better for longer trips IMO, but the Street is more fun.

I'm aware but I do appreciate it :beer

My first streetbike was an EX500 and then I moved up to my GSF600S. I've been riding street roughly two years now and have around 20,000 miles under my belt, not a whole lot but pretty good. I can ride pretty much any bike though that doesn't mean I can ride it good but you get the idea lol

No, I just generally like all of those bikes, the ER6N and Gladius were comfortable and I like parallel twin and v-twins so they are just other possible alternatives, the Triumph is way up there though because of some of the aesthetics (those dual round headlights NEVER get old) and of course that engine.

Oh cool you've got more experience than me, you should be great with the Triumph. Its an awesome bike, loads of fun, and that engine is pure genius. Another thing I love about it, when I first got it I kept thinking I was missing shifts because the gearbox was so smooth, I was used to my Kawi clunking into gear every time, the Street just slides right in.

The look is what initially drove me to it as well, and after two months with it, I still find myself standing there staring at it sometimes lol. Mine is Roulette Green.

I stand and stare at my Bandit quite often lol

My kawi was clunky and so is my bandit so a smoother transmission would be a welcome addition, how is the reliability so far? I love the matte grey color they have but at the same time my favorite color is green lol

But it will be years from now until I possibly get one so I can do plenty of research on them. I'll definatly go for the STRIPPLE R though, gotta love that suspension.

Ive had it for about a month and a half and have just about 1000 miles on it and no issues so far, but it's still early *knocks on wood*. I use it to commute to work every day, and take it up to the twisties in the mountains on weekends, and its been great in both roles.

I'm a member over at triumphrat.net and there's a lot of people there who've had Streets since launch and put tons of miles on them and nobody seems to having any real issues except a few people in places with low quality gasoline.
