I got the whole idle problem fixed. I now have a burrning rubber smell coming for the left side of the engine, there are no wires, hoses, or anything touching to cause the smell. the weird thing is the smell gets stronger if you rev the engine, as soon as you kill the engine the smell quickly goes away. Any Ideas?

Well, did you pull the tank off to fix the carbs? Lots of hoses and the rubber pads on the bottom of the tank have a habit of falling off as you reassemble the bike. Not sure right off hand, my bike has been apart many times and I've never had that smell, other smells, but not more as the revs come up???

i double checked all of those, that was the first thing i thought of. at first it was as soon as you started the bike. then i found the wire for the kickstand interlock was all bunched up in the wire run, and the insolators for the quick disconnect were melted some. I moved those, and it got better but thats when it started the smell getting worse when you rev it.
