So I bought a bike. 02 Katana. yes it's a Can-O-tuna, buts its a bike and that is what matters.

So, the key is missing. Already verified thru sheriffs office it isnt stolen and I have the title so no worries.

Anyone happen to be able to find out the part number from suzuki for all new key assemblies? (tank, steering lock, tail)

Thanks

Chris

If you do that then they will all be keyed different. You need to find a locksmith that can make you a couple replacement keys unless you can find the key code somewhere. I used to write it down on the inside cover of the owners manual when I was selling bikes.

Can't do that. The previous owner removed all the internals from all the locks. I need to replace the entire locks.

What I am tryign to figure out is what is cross compatiable. i.e. will GSXR 600 tank and ignition lock work on a katana. once I figure out what works with what I can buy a replcaement set at a junk yard, ebay, or online.

Ahhh ok then in that case I have no idea. They are usually pretty bike specific from past experience but that not be the case with the kat since I have never messed with one.

The Katana is a great bike, they're dead relaible.

Any pics?

Ronayers.com or bikebandit.com would probably be your best bet.

Ok I just checked both sites thoroughly and they don't have shit, all they have is key blanks. So basically you're going to have to go to a salvage yard or just search ebay and such to find a totalled bike that is never going to be restored and is being parted out and take the whole ignition assembly from that bike, along with the helmet locks and seat locks (if seperate) and also you need to get the gas cap.

But before you buy this stuff ask the guy if he has the key and or number to have a key made.

Damn dude, I feel for ya.
