Well I will make this as short as possible. After a front valve stem failure, took my bike in to get metal stem replacement. Mechanic takes off wheel and says I need new wheel bearings. Fine I order the bearings, was gonna have a friend mechanic put them in for me. He inspected movement on wheel without taking off rim and said to just get the bearings and he will put them in. Back tire wears out so take bike to another shop to get back tire put in and have mechanic put in front wheel bearings at the same time. He comes back and says that front wheel is shot probably from poor chrome process when I bought the bike. Bike does have slight vibration above 80mph but nothing that would raise an eyebrow. No worse than a cupped tire, road condition or wind shear would create. Now I don't know who to believe. New bearings or new wheel. That is the question. Any one else with chrome rims have a similar problem and what did you end up doing.
