Well with my new motorcycle I decided I'm going to have to get some actual motorcycling boots, though I had a few stipulations. I finally decided on the Tour Master Response SC Road Boot.

First, I do most of my riding just as commuting to work thus far, so I would prefer something that I wouldn't have to change when I got to work. First and foremost they would have to look normal under my work clothes, second I'm usually at my desk during the day, but it would still be nice if they were somewhat comfertable. Also, I ordered some firstgear waterproof overpants at the same time, so I would have liked if they were at least reasonably waterproof.

Today I got them in the mail and I'm pleased. They seem comfy, and they should offer actual protection (velcro to cover the laces, ankle armor) compared to the shoes I usually wear to work (low-cut psuedo-dress shoes). For the price ($100), I don't think I could be much happier.

If you work at a desk I would of just got some real boots and then leave your work shoes under your desk for when you get there. I don't work at a desk and still plan on just throwing my work boots in my backpack when I get my bike back from the shop this week(unrelated to my wipeout) but those boots just look like over the ankle style work boots, which I had on when I wiped out and somehow my foot is still screwed up from a 25mph lowside from Jan1st. Nothing broken but the muscles are still trying to heal and If I went and tried to get into a running routine it'd never happen as being on my feet just at work(5hrs) is enough for me.

Do they have any kind of armor? Nice looking boots though.

Yea, they have ankle armor. I've had a high-speed wreck (50+mph over the front bars) on a similar set of boots and they held up minus a broken zipper (instead of velcro to hide the laces). I don't go above 35mph for my whole commute so they should hold up well.

I tried them today and I don't know if I have to break them in or what, but it's hard to 'rock' my ankle to use the back brake or downshift. And yea, I did bring a pair of work shoes today, I think I'm just going to leave them here.
