Riding on the freeway... only me and just another car behind, no other cars in sight. I'm on the first of 3 lanes, the car is following close behind - I say 'well, let's speed up a little' i speed up to 65 (55 speed limit) the guy speeds up also. He is followin very close - 5 feet maybe. Next time i look in the mirror guess what - HE IS TRYING TO PASS ME ON THE INSIDE, ON THE SAME LANE!!!!! There were 2 other lanes completely free.

HOW BATSHIT CRAZY DOES ONE HAVE TO BE TO TRY TO DO THAT?

By "first of three lanes" do you mean the left lane?

If so, then you were in the wrong.

You shoulda brake checked him
Yeah, the trouble is that i just rebuild my brakes and they're 'one finger'. By the time i thought about it, he was way too close.

Anyway, Limit+20.... i'm so afraid of the ticket that i could get. i got a ticket in PA for doing 82 in a 65, officer reduced it to 72, and the ticket was $130.... The one and only ticket i ever got.

as much as he may have been behaving like an asshole, your problem could have been solved by lane position.

Regardless of other traffic on a 3 lane highway in the right lane you should be on the left side of the lane, and in the left lane you should be on the right side of the lane.

This makes you more visible in the mirrors of drivers of the center lane. Personally i tread inches from the line towards the faster lane so if someone is going to pass me they HAVE to give me a wide berth.

+1. this also leaves an escape route (split the lanes) should traffic back up and the guy who was just ridding your ass tries to become one with it.

haha that's so cool. i'm a little south of you, where new hampshire ave (650) and colesville (29) meet. M-F, i commute up 29 north and turn onto 198 east. it's against traffic and takes 15 min to get to work. it's great. i've been riding since july this year, prob got 2200 miles.

know any good roads up there? i'm trying to find people to ride with. i got my bike just as everyone i know sold theirs for financial reason. nothing crazy, i wouldn't mind if it was just practicing figure 8's in a parking lot.
