Well I will have pics up I hope latter on but in a nut shell, came into a corner at a good rate of speed then saw that the dirt rd spilled out onto the rd a lot, went to slow down back tire locked up and caught on stone we think. I kept calm and almost pulled it out when I hit a bump in the dirt and it put the bike air born for a moment when I came down front end hit and stoped all momentum. Well all the bikes mine sent me up and over the bars was told I did a kinda summersault/tuck and roll ended up sitting cross leged and just shook my head and gave friends the thumbs up. The right side mirror broke off when my right leg hit it.

Got the bike back up took it easy for about 2 miles fealt good, brought it up to a crusing speed of about 70mph didn't notice any real shimmy or anything. Went on to tackle another several miles of cornors.

The question comes in is if there was anything wrong I would have noticed it after the ride right?

Still thinking about taken it into the dealer but wanted to see what all I could try and check before going to shell out the money to them. Gonna jb weld the mirror back on for the time being and then buy another one to put on. Other than some scratches and a small crack in one fairing piece the bike held up well and the fram sliders helped even on the dirt.

One of my friends thought I was nutts going on and enjoying the rest of the ride (not as agressive as normal though) but was happy to see it didn't make me want to sell the bike or anything.

Good news is I have been wanting a new helmet and well now I have no choice :lao

That which not kills you make you a better rider, I hope. Glad to know you're alright.

What could you have done to prevent the mishap, or, what would you have done differently?

Been thinking a lot about it. And one big mistake was that I didn't realize that the turn was the one with the dirt out into the rd. If I did would not have come up on it like I did. That was my biggest mistake. Other than that there was not to much I could have done differnt. Buddy riding with me that has rode on and off for over 10 years said I did a really great job with not panicing and trying my best to slow down enough.

I put my left foot down at one point (use to ride dirt bikes a lot) so that I could kinda pivot and gas out of it when in the dirt but nefer had a chance to since I hit a bit of a bump. Will have up pics to show it all.

I just glad the bike not to messed up. I have great medical so I don't worry about that much :lao I was gonna try and lean the bike over and counter steer really hard but then I realized that my line would still have put me in some gravle and dirt and didnt want to risk a wash out and have the bike tumble into the trees. Figure trying to slow it down as much as I could and then ride it out in the grass was best bet.

One thing this has done is got me to look ahead more often now when riding.

Glad to hear that you and your bike didn't get too banged up. I don't have anything to say about how to see if your bike is OK or not, but besides your helmet, how did any gear you were wearing hold up in the crash?
Thanks man. I am glad that I not to concerned with the looks of it overall. Scratches and messed up farings just encourages me to paint it and go naked afterall.

Since it came to rest in dirt and was not to hard packed since it rained about 2 days ago all went well. The jacket while not meant for riding really allowed me to just slide right on over and didnt get anything worse than really dirty.

Course after this my mom is looking to see if she has some credit freed up that I can borrow to buy some better gear now.

Looking at ICON jacket (leather not textile), icon TIMax gloves (they fit really well) and some riding boots since my regular work boots are getting worn out.
