I want to paint my rims black and need you guys feedback on the type of paint I should use. I dont have the money to powdercoat (yet) so I'm thiking bout a rattle can job for now or w/paint gun, what do you guys think? anyone have experience doing this? Will i need a clear coat if done with a paint gun or rattle can? I've already jetstripper'ed all the white off my rim. (gsxr)

I got my rims sandblasted and powdercoated at a local shop for 80 bucks. I pick them up on wednesday.

Paint alone will be at least 20, and sanding that shit down will be a pain in the ass. Call around and check prices. Local shops are cheap as hell. Plus, then it will last FOREVER. Paint comes off so easily it's silly. It may last a year without chipping.

Tell them: "you guys charge 120, huh? well, there's a place online that'll do them for 80, but i kinda wanted to stay local"

^^^^ hahaha, its edinburg, Texas: who would have known.. yeah just called suzuki and they've got a guy that will do it for $40 bucks a rim, so might as well do it right the first time.ehhh... didn't think anyone around my town did powdercoating. problem is the guy only wants the rim, i've got to strip the tire off the rim and remove the weights for balancing
