Well, Im almost done collecting all the plastics for my bike and I've replaced the mechanical frame pieces that cracked and whatnot from my little incident a while back. Nothing was all that serious. The only parts on the bike that had to be replaced was the right side rearset and the stator cover.
To get to the point, my bike has been sitting around for almost a year now. Before I put it away, it ran ok. A little slow to start, but ran. Im about to take it in to my mechanic fairly soon and I want to make a list of everything that he should look at for inspection and possibly replace.
The bike only has 2500 mi on it. The brakes are still good. I bought a new battery and it sits on a tender 24hrs a day, so thats good. The frame is straight, the subframe is fine, the forks are straight. So I know I have to change the oil, but what about the radiator fluid? Brake fluid? Spark plugs or is that not necessary? Basically, what should go into a major tune-up? I know im missing things here. I want to be able to go to him sounding like I know everything that needs to be done. I want this for two reasons: 1, so that I actually do understand everything going on and 2, to lessen the chance that I will miss something or get ripped. I have yet to find a mechanic in my area I can fully trust.
I think in the long run im just better off learning how to do this all myself, but for now, here I am. Thanks people.
