Sweet...I have been wanting to testride one of those (ducs) Looks like your aprilla would offer a little more wind protection.
I had a Buell XB12s before I bought my 1098. That was also a really fun bike (at lower speeds) Once you got it above 80-90mph...it felt like you were going to get sucked off the back of the bike. I was wondering if the Duc Streetfighter felt the same way?

Yes. The owner said he avoids going over 80mph because it sucks. Overall I liked my bike more for 1/2 the price. Both of us couldn't feel a difference in the motor. Duc had better brakes. Aprilia handled better, more comfy, better wind protection. If you were going to track it a bunch then the SF maybe better but for off the track I would take the ape.

I still prefer the previous gen Tuono to the current, but the Duc is just fugly, imho. I hear it's an absolute beast, though. Nice to see a Ventura system, though, I loved the one I had on my Speed Triple.

Besides the brakes the SF didn't "perform" better then the Tuono. My bike has Leo Vince Slipons, Mapped, and geared up down 1 tooth in the front. The SF has Termi slipons and ECU. SF only had 750 miles on it so maybe after a few more it will feel better.

Yah I use it for any ride that I go over 100 miles or so. I don't even notice it is there. I can always swap it around and ride with a passenger. Last week my girl and I did 300 miles. Packed a lunch, snacks, and emergency stuff. Tirepatch kit, water, etc. Plus it is nice to have a place to throw a soda or something when I stop, and to haul a roll of papertowels and cleaner. Yes it doesn't look the coolest, but I can't see it when riding so who cares. Plus it was fun last weekend going on a group ride, being faster then all the SS style bikes with a passenger and luggage.

I was amazed how small the Streetfighter felt sitting on it.

Oddly, the dealer wouldn't let me demo a base Street Fighter, but all but threw the keys to a 1098S at me.

tell the owner he is a pussy, for me.

actually, sitting on the SF and the new monster they feel a bit more upright than mine, so i guess the wind could be an issue... for pussies.

maybe i need to spend some time on a faired bike to understand.
+1

Avoid running over 80? Tell him to harden the fuck up.
