Well I came home this weekend from school for a football game and decided to check craigslist. Found a pretty good deal on a 04 r1 and called him up. Went to voice mail right away the first few times so I am sure I wasn't the only one interested. Finally got through and went to look at it. Headed to the bank and came back and took it home. She's not the prettiest in person but it will probably just be turned into a track bike or sold for profit. Here it is.

The left side has some rash on it, especially the tail. I have no clue how they did not show up in the picture lol. Then where the left mirror is connected the cowling is broken.

By the way, do you experience any vibration with that tank-mounted camera mount? I had the same one and couldnt get it to not vibrate..pissed the hell out of me.

Camera does not vibrate at all. Kawi tops the r1 in every catagory. R1 does have a nicer front end, but I hate how big the r1's front end is though. Its way to wide with those huge headlights.

There is really no reason it can't be ridden right now, the only thing that it will really need is a new chain here soon cause its rusted in a few spots pretty bad. I got it for 3k. I have not even ridden it yet other than like a 5 minute test ride. Its just hanging out in my garage back home now that I am back at school.

I have not ridden it yet lol. I bought it and put it in the garage and went back up to school. I have ridden r1's for a while though, not my favorite handling bike but I'm sure once I get some time on it I change my mind.

If you zoom in close on the tail you can see the rash on the side and the top.

No insurance on the r1 cause I never planned on riding it on the street. zx10r only has liability which is worthless cause I never ride it on the street either.

If you only use the Kawi on the track, I'd recommend you make it a track bike and sell the OEM fairings... I bought my gixxer 6 for less than $2k and got my money back selling the OEM fairing lol And even if you want to keep them, a set of sharkskinz plastics could save you a lot of money...
