I just got the Hindle 2-1 system on the other day...so I grabbed my camera tonight and decided to take some pics of my bike to post on here. Let me know what you guys think. It's a left-side exit exhaust, so it's a little odd. :eek:

It sounds mean, REAL mean. Deep down low. I haven't heard it revved up real high since it needs to be rejetted/tuned and doesn't pull up top right now. It's a little deeper than I'd like it up top...but it still sounds nice. Totally mean sound. The midrange is INCREDIBLE..it LEAPS. With the tune tomorrow, it should pull quite a bit better. The weight difference is also substantial--believe it or not, you can actually FEEL it. Only downside is you can tell the balance is thrown off. I want to keep going to the right when coming to a stop.

Oh, hey Halflifebeater...is there any chance you can get a vid of your bike with you revving it so we can hear how it sounds and see it?

Nice pics Filip....you're giving me some competition! Those clear front lenses look WAY better. I might just do that if I get too lazy to do a pair of flushmounts to better match the rear. :)

DarNinja: Unfortunately I don't have any servers or anything anywhere that would allow me to post a video...but if you're online frequently, I have a cable modem and my digital cam will take video....so if you've got a decent connection, IM me sometime and I'll go grab some video. And if you want to know what it sounds like...listen to a 4-stroke, 2 cylinder 4 wheeler, like a Honda 400EX. It sounds really similar. Not very pretty up top, but loud, deep, and AWESOME at low rpms. People turn to look at it now cause it sounds so different. :D

I'll answer for him just in case he doesn't see...my subscription to this thread isnt even active anymore and I was the last poster.... That pic is with his Sarachu 2:2... I think that exhaust is hand-made in some other country, just can't remember where. I want to say South America but I don't know why....

Sarachu's are damn mean pipes....they're the deepest I've heard yet on the 500. My Hindle system sounds cool, but it doesn't have nearly the bass note nor the volume that Sarachu's have.

Sarachu is made in Brazil and can be purchased ONLY for ex500. Look in the thread about "Parts Galore". There is a section with all exhausts available, and the places that sell them.

Wow I wonder what Hindles reasoning for the left side exit was.??? Back in the "day" like 1987 or so Yoshimura had left side exit exhaust for the Ninja 750R and Muzzy exhaust for the ZX11's were lefties as well. Probably to clear the oil sump without alot of pipe bendage. Bendage is that a word??? Is now...

ryan....damn dude! You can paint mine like that next! It looks *SWEET*. Just put a lower fairing on it now. ;) Or get some aftermarket pipes to show off

how much did your exhaust run you... Are they sleves or a whole new system? I'm thinking about putting something on mine next summer.

Who you talking to man?

Mine is a full system (2-1)...Filip has the Sarachu slip-ons (they dont make a system)..

My system cost something close to $500 for the head pipes and muffler and all the hardware....though I'm sure it can be had for cheaper. This was through a shop.

The 91' I'm supposed to get has a Vance and Hines on it.... Any opinions on that exhaust on these bikes?

No opinion except that it's probably better than stock. I only have personal experience with Muzzy and Jardine on that bike. I've got a Muzzy and someone I know has a Jardine his '91.

Would you expect any horsepower increase from such a change in exhaust??? If not it doesn't really matter, I didn't put the pipe on haha.

If the rest of the bike is tuned/modded to match the exhaust you'll see a little more horsepower. Proper jetting, air filter, etc. Not like a massive increase but it's noticeable. I think a properly modded EX definitely feels better to ride than than a stock. If I were to pick up another EX of any year that was stock I'd mod it in a heartbeat.
