If you wear a helmet while you are riding with earbuds, I don't see how you will get pulled with one on.

+1 should only become an issue if you get popped for something else. Then it will depend on your attitude and the cop's mood if it gets added to your ticket.

But they can be a pretty serious distraction. I wouldn't ride with one.

yea, theres no way a cop would be able to pull me over for wearing them, theyd never see um... but im saying if i got caught for something else, i was curious if anyone here ever got introuble for them... i wont be using them anytime soon being im a noob... but i def will want to wear it down the line sometime

didn't realize they were illegal, i wear my minidisc player a lot, have the earbuds and a helmet over it.

Not sure why riding a motorcycle and listening too music is illegal... but blasting your radio while drinking coffe and talking on the phone isn't when you are driving a cage?

My earbuds actually have the added perk of cancelling wind noise in the helmet, in traffic I can hear the other cars around me.

I think when they wrote the laws they didn't really take into count motorcycles. MD law says you can't have earphones in while operating a motor vehicle. Unfortunately motorcycles fall in that category. But I agree I see no harm in having ear phones in as long as you can still hear whats going on around you.

my friend got pulled over for speeding on the freeway and the cop decided to be a jerk that day and ended up writing him a ticket for EVERYTHING, from his license plate bracket to his MP3 player. I don't know all the details but knew that the ticket was well over $400 (he was only going 15mph over the speed limit). Me and him still do it though so... i have yet to get pulled over for it, but I guess if they really want to they can write you up for it.

i used to listen to mine everywhere i rode. i got pulled over because my eliminator fell off and the licenseplate too. pulled me over told me to go home and i can only listen to my ipod w/ one head phone only. luckily no ticket. would still be listening to it but it broke in washington you can have one head phone in

Man, the 15 MPH over ticket would almost cost you that here.

I was doing wheelies in a vacated KSU parking lot over their Chistmas break, and got pulled over by a cop. He just gave me a verbal warning, but I asked him about my earbuds I had. I figured I might as well ask while he was there, and obviously not going to ticket me for a possibly illegal music player when he was letting me off for wheelies. Anyway, he said they weren't illegal, but advised me to only have one in at a time so I could hear my surroundings. I'm sure laws vary by state though.
