Not entirely sure where to put this because its not brand specific.

Noticed on my 06 zzr600 (see 02 zx6r) this minorly but chalked it up to going insane and maybe it just being suspension movement.

Basically at cruising speeds in the city, so 10-55mph if held at a steady rpm say around 7000 or so the bike isnt smooth at all, almost as if the front brakes are applying on and off minorly. It honestly feels like a dragging out of the front end.

Well for reasons i wont go into i've been driving my g/f's 98 cbr F3 for the last few days and her bike does the same thing only much worse then my kawi. It does it to the point that it feels like the bike is surging, but it still feels like its coming out of the front end. Her bike only has 16000 km's on it (about 10k miles).

what causes this?

lol too funny 175lb rider, no the honda isn't up on maintenance, the kawi is, it was never bad enough to care on the kawi, it is on her bike.

i ask because my truck just did some random shit where the front was grabbing out of the front right and it ended up being because the front brake lines were super worn and the liner was collapsing on the inside.

should mention in both cases the rpms stay completely stable, but the bike its self seems to surge, almost as if the front brakes were applying on and off lightly.

nope, nothing obviously wrong with the bikes. Kind of hoping someone has experienced something similar and figured out a solution.

chain might be it, there is a bit of slack in the f3's chain, girlfriend hasn't got around to actually doing the basic maintenance, its a pretty new bike to her, the kawi chain is tensioned perfectly tho, has all of its o-rings but could definitely use some chain lube (i've been bad :( ) hmmm maybe thats all it is.

I had the very pronounced jerky effect on my 07 gsxr 600. While trying to find the simplest solution, I removed my chain. There were a couple of areas where the chain was binding. It was binding so bad, that the chain at times would not follow the contour of the sprockets. Turns out that the chain was just stretched beyond specs and was binding on the bearings between the links. I changed the chain and the jerky effect was gone. This might explain the irregular events of occurance.

I have worked on honda civic race motors for a decade, and have learned that Japanese computers and engine controls are usually bullet proof. lets make sure we check our chains before handing over our money to these shops, whose business it is to sell us parts and services.
