So, i am getting sick of riding alone. I dont have any friends that ride....however often times when I am out on a cruise and run into another rider we end up riding together a little bit. I gotta say riding with somebody is fun sometimes.

So I am thinking of doing a hangout with the Iron Rockets (Affiliate of Iron Order) or the Ruff Ryders here in Tampa Bay and eventually becoming a prospect. I read some forums and looked at their websites and it looks like fun. Good people who like to ride hard and play hard.

I am NOT looking for a 1% club....you know, the Sons Of Anarchy type shit. Just a club that loves riding often and having fun.

Anybody out there have any experience with a MC? What do you all think of MC's? Let me know!

So what u want r friends and u thought a motorcycle would do? And now u complain about it online? And want to ask strangers online about clubs? You dont even know what a club is...this is the honest eeply u get from someone who isnt politically correct to your pathetic generation. My advice, grow up and be a man.

Go fuck yourself dickhead. I have friends, they don't ride. I want to ride with people who like to ride.

My advice to you: Keep your mouth shut unless you have something to contribute.

You sound like a true apathetic asshole.

Try local motorcycle forums, and see if they have a "rides" section.

I am not into "clubs". The only clubs I like to be a member of is NESBA, TPM, and Motorcycle Excitement LOL

Go do a charity ride with some clubs, then a couple of rides and get to know some.

I've done that, and am actually considering a "real" club, though I still wonder about all the structure.

When I got back to riding a year and a half ago, I did a lot of solo rides. One day, I just met up with a few guys and they were pretty cool. I started riding with them more frequently. They were mature guys and would give me a lot of pointers. They didn't do stupid shit on the streets and even got me to do my first track day. I still like to do my solo rides and it's not like I ride only with them. But it is nice to have a bunch of people to ride with. Most of them are better riders than me and I ended up getting much better because of them.

I looked at a couple or clubs a few years ago, decided against it. They tend to be all about acting squidish on street....trying to show off to each other. There are a few good ones, do like F4 said, it's the easiest way to find a fit for you. I don't prospect for anyone, I refuse to be a bitch for someone just to get a vest.

Check out the clubs website and forums. Join the forums and talk a little. Maybe go to a couple bike nights once you think it might be what your looking for. The club I am now part of I have been with for about 5 years and they are a great group. You don't ride with us on a ride unless you have proper gear. Each level of ride has different gear requirements but the slowest ride is your basics.... Helmet, jacket, boots, pants, gloves type deal. We do charities and try to improve the public view of sport bikes as much as possible. We also like to have fun and go fast but we do that either on back roads and stay reasonable or go to the track. We even have a section on the website that explains the club rules very well and tells you how we are. Good luck!

Yeah, go riding with people from a local forum. Bike clubs are like car clubs...BORING......and also the club is more about the club..than it is about riding/driving.

You can find a forum, go to a meet up, and make friends the normal way with them. From there you can use social networking and move forward.

If you want a leather vest though.....good luck my friend....

Also, if anyone makes fun of you for your bike choice and CONSTANTLY pressures you to get a "b***** bike to be a real man" then you need to find new friends, seriously.

It is enjoyable and potentially safer to ride with a friend - but the reality is that I didn't get into riding for social reasons. My advice is to ride alone and work on your skill and perhaps do some track days. I am sure that some of the bike clubs have some very good people - but honestly, if you really want to learn and be around people that want to become better riders, sign up for a track day organization and meet people there.

Good luck.

Overreact much? You need to check yourself, that was way out of line.

You are in Tampa. There are hundreds of riders over there. Go register at TSB (tampasportbikes.com) and get to know the people there. They have rides (actual rides, not parades for the purpose of looking cool) all the time. But you might want to adjust your attitude a little. They are going to be much less tolerant of the above than I am.

Make new friends it isnt rocket science. Most if my current friends I met on SBN and have done extensive riding with in the last years.

Ps. your reaction about being told to grow up solidifies that he was right. .. you do need to grow up.

Not all clubs are the squidish type. Just gotta find the right one. We had a club at school. When I got in it was all of about 5 people who were actually involved. Now it's up to like 30 or so regulars, with another 10-20 occasionals, and it's school sponsored. We did trackdays, trips to Deals Gap, trips to the Snake, rides about 3 times a week, thursday night Pizza, and BBQ's. They also typically ride down to Florida for Bike Week for spring break (from Virginia)
