On the track seeing behind you may not be important. But on the street it is very important to me to potentially see that cager that dosent see you stopped barrelling toward you. At least then you have a chance of seeing them and reacting.
As stated above I have also utilized the ~1.5 inch concave mirrors on the existing mirrors to assist in the blindspot.
There will always be some area you cant see, thats what head checks are for.
