Well, I never thought I'd actually consider selling my baby, but I've got a buyer lined up for my FZ6 and I'm looking at a used BMW K1200LT. I feel kind of dirty. We ride 2 up so much that my wife has finally decided she can't take being folded up on the back of the FZ any longer. I wish I could afford hanging onto two bikes. I'll certainly miss my little rocket.

Actually, I know how you feel. I'd like a GSX-R 750, but I know it would be highly uncomfortable for my wife. Since she takes some coaxing to get on the back of my bike (and because she has some lower back problems), my next bike will have to be something a little more condusive to 2 up riding so I can get her into riding it a little more often. I'm thinkng FZ1, 'Busa, or ZX-14, with a heavy leaning right now towards the FZ1.

gold wings are great for 2-up riding, but they suckass at just about everything else. wait, they have heating and A/C and reverse and satellite navigation.
just buy her a bike and call it a day.

Agree with buy her a bike. I'd buy a 'Wing ('01 or newer) any day before I bought the K1200LT. I've owned a GL1800. It was a fantastic bike.

I don't like the Honda. I actually like the BMW. I am just going to miss the speed and handling of my FZ. It's been such a great bike, it'll be sad to let it go. One of the things I like better about the BMW is gas mileage. I'm going to be using it as a daily commuter and owners of the K1200LT's are reporting 50-60 mpg versus high 30's and low 40's for the Wing.

A/C really? Is that located by the blinker fluid reservoir? I would be lying if I said that I haven't been looking at the Beemers.

Hah, I'm pretty much open to anything since my wife won't come near my bike. Hell, I could buy a GW with a sidecar and she still wouldn't ride. Oh well.....she doesn't know what she's missing no matter how blue in the face I get telling her so.

Regardless, that K12kLT is a BEAST of a bike with a wet weight of 830+ pounds! I'd still ride one if I had the need though. Then again I'm kind of partial to the BMWs.

My wife loves riding, but her bad knee really causes her problems after about 30 minutes on the back of the FZ. There is something about the BMW that speaks to me. If I have to go with a touring bike, at least there is one that I don't think will make me feel like an old geezer.

Is that her only complaint? You can just modify the passenger pegs to her spec!
Can't do anything about the torque though. I'm sure you'll find that a liter bike will be more fun for 2up riding.
