Does anyone know the fine in Michigan if you get pulled over without your endorsement? I just found out like 5 minutes ago that my brother has been riding for years without his endorsement. He said it's only an $80 fine and no points. That true? Can they impound your bike? I'm sure they can but wouldn't unless you are being a real dick to them

I just cannot think of any reason why some choose the easy way, if there is one, rather than to be legal, except being stupid.

This to me sounds like: "Hey I know I can't pass the riding test at the BMV so I'm going to go squiding around on a permit until I get caught."

MD it is driving with out a license $320 and yes we impound the bike. We can't leave it on the side of the road since we are responsible for it, and can't let the driver, driver b/c no license. Better to just get the endorsement and be done with it.

Here's what I know. It depends on where in Michigan you get stopped and get a ticket. Where I am it's $105.00 in my small city right outside GR. In GR it's $145.00 which means getting the endorsement would be way cheaper either way. I think I paided a total of $40.00 for the endorsement $5 for the permit and $35 for the road test. It's just the best way to go. It's one less worry you have to deal with when riding. I would just go and get the endorsement. Or you can take a MSF class and be done with everything.

If you get stopped and the bike impounded, you could be in for a lot of grief plus $$. Then what? Get the bike back and take the chance again? Second time will be worse. Why not just make it legal? Where's the down side? :rolleyes

I had a buddy to lazy to get his endorsement and got stopped three times. The first two were around our city and the police just told him to get home, if they saw him again that night, they would impound the bike. The third time was about an hour the other side of town, and they still didn't take it, but they wouldn't let him get back on it. He endid up having to get it towed all the way home. When he finally got the endorsement he could only say how happy he was he didn't have to worry about it anymore.

Yeah I know my brother is a bonehead. I'm not going to argue that. I was just wondering what the fines are in Michigan. I passed my written test last May and a few weeks later took my road test. I'm good to go!
