Just wondering. I log in and hit NEW POSTS and 8 of the first 13 topics were P&R. This seems to be the norm anymore. And yes, I know, I posted in Open Forums so I also did not post in a MC section. Are there posters only here for P&R or does everyone enjoy the MC topics and P&R is an afterthought?

There are quite a few people that post in nothing but P/R.

I enjoy the whole forum. I am not that familiar with track riding or stunting so I normally just read those, and I also really like the tech stuff. I will post in P&R when the thread stays on topic and less than a million pages. Unfortunately that normally only happens for the first 6 or 7 pages and then the normal people turn it into a 25 page bickering match. I think every forum should have a diverse amount of things to talk about. Not everyone can come on and talk about riding the track or rebuilding a motor. But it is nice to find some articles about stuff that intreagues you and then have a little BS'ing on the side about something completely unrelated to motorcycles (open forums). I think it rounds it all out.

I you want more posts that are not in P&R, then make more. The problem is not the amount of posts in P&R, it is the lack of posts elsewhere.

New rules have been put in place to bring P&R inline with the rules of the rest of the board. This is and always has been a motorcycle board first and all the rest second.

I'm pretty sure this has been brought up, but it bears repeating: If folks want more motorcycle content, they could, well, post up. P&R is active, very active. It's strange to me that people would be irritated by that. Apparently what's going on in there is more interesting. And it hasn't spilled out into the rest of the site that I'm aware of, at least not in a very long time. This all could have been handled so much better, but it wasn't. So it goes, and so it went.

Apparently, if other sections of the forum are dead, then that means all of the rest of the sections should be dead as well?

True, but there's something else, too. This site is so fucking huge when you count the subforums that the new posts button would be worthless even without P&R. Take away the politics and you'd still have a list overwhelmingly filled with posts about bikes you don't own, places you don't live and subjects you're not interested in. It's one of the drawbacks of having a big, diverse community.

It'd be awesome if politics and religion didn't have it's own place. And the discussion and ideas had to be out in the open.

I know a lot of people don't like that idea. They'd have to be treated like everybody else, and not like they deserve special rules and freedoms.

If only there was an "Advanced Search" option.

If your neighbours dog shit all over the sidewalk to the point that you had to tiptoe around it, would you bring it to his attention or just walk on the other side of the street?
Does clicking on "Advanced Search" put dog shit on your shoes?
