I actually liked this guy, at BikeWeek he and OCC were there. OCC charged 20 bucks for a shirt and 10 more for an autograph. Larry just hung out in the crowd and signed whatever, wherever for free. Good man.
That sucks! He was a very unique guy and definately someone who will be missed. I don't think the chopper guys are any more nuts than us who ride sportbikes. I'd imagine the value of his bikes will probably be through the roof after this.
Just a few months ago I was checking out his bikes at the Miami Motorcycle Show, he had a booth just down the lane from us... Every time I walked over there he was swamped with fans, I didn't feel like joining the crowd so I waited a while. I never did get a chance to shake his hand and congradulate him on his unique bikes.
There are a LOT of hack "chopper" builders out there, but he was one of the few GREAT builders who put out a clean, functional, high quality bike with lots of style.....
I'll go second.
