Speed/RPM matching

this question is for everyone with stock gearing. i have always noticed that in 4th gear the Speedo and Tach match PERFECTLY! 8K is 80mph, 5K is 50mph etc. well after my first valve job (15 of 16 out of spec) i am exactly 200 RPM over while in 4th gear. and cant get any answers as to why that happened. ive heard lots of answers but none lead back to the service that was performed. does everyone else with stock gearing match perfectly while in 4th? and has it ever gone off and why?

I have a 2005 ZZR and my RPMs and Speed match in 4th gear too. My bike has less that 2500 miles and I've only had it for 3 weeks so I can't say its ever been off, but I can say you aren't the only one who had them sync up. I have no idea why it would change.

thank you root!! :cheers gees, i was startin to think i was the only one who pays attention to their tach/speedo. thanks for your input. so keep an eye on it and let me know if it changes.

I have an 07 zzr with just over 4500 miles on it and the tach and speedo match up almost perfectly in 4th as well. I had an 08 zzr previously (which was unfortunatly stolen last winter) and they matched up real close on that bike as well. That was one of the first things I noticed with each bike, and I never noticed either going off.
