I have a 2008 zzr600
I lowsided on a turn, not very fast but i went down on the left side. I let it sit a while and had to replace the battery. Now it idles really high and dies as soon as I put it in gear. Any ideas?

Not sure why it would idle high but the dying thing is almost surely your kickstand position switch. the bike thinks the kickstand is always down so it kills the motor.

Yup you have A busted your sidestand switch in the acciddent and B smacked the idle control knob that also sits on the left hand side of the bike .

yup.

Sounds like you need to fiddle with a couple things. Also, the switch might not be broken... a lot of them use the spade-style push on connectors for the wires, it might have just come unplugged. It's happened to me before while riding over some branches that got caught on it. Annoying, to say the least.

Thanks! I'll check it out, and see if I can't fix it. I'm thinking I may just bypass the kill switch. I'm new to motorcycles and this one wreck was a rough introduction
