leather care

i just bought my first leather jacket, Teknic Lightning. do i have to waterproof it or anything? also, what should i use to clean it? thanks.

A liquid leather cleaner-conditioner made for saddles (NOT saddle soap though) is what was recommended for mine. Apply with a soft cloth, use enough elbow grease to clean off the bugs and stuff, then buff with a clean cloth. Works great. Probably doesn't make leather waterproof though.

where did you find such a product?
Buff off any excess. I found that dirt sticks to any left over conditioner.

Best place other than a leather shop is a tack store (specializes in horse saddles and other related "equipment"). Luggage store maybe? I got mine where I got my leathers.
