Every once in a while, I think we could sell one of the cars. I could
just depend on public transportation for those few days a year when I
can't ride the bike. I don't think I'll contemplate that again.
Yesterday I had to make an emergency run to the vet with our 15
year-old kitty yowling and hyperventilating on the passenger seat.
He's fine now, but I think it would have killed me, if not him, if I'd
had to spend the extra hour rounding up a ride to the vet.

I can't imagine how that would have felt if he were a child.

A bike without a car is for bachelors and bachelorettes.

I use my car about 1/3 of my travel time. Necessary for client meetings, children, our puppy, family trips, groceries, etc. I too have rushed off to the vet twice at such minor emergencies.

Right now we have 2 cars and of course my Fizzer. Thinking about selling one of the cars since we are moving out to CA here soon.

If it's an older car, definately sell it before you move out here. Out of state cars tend to have problems passing smog tests here due to slightly different emissions equipment put on cars here in CA.
