This weekend I got the best fuel milage yet on my '90 Kat 750. I got 50.46 mpg on one tank, and 48.80 on another. This contrasts to 38-40 that I typically get, but I usually do more stop and go driving, my cruising this weekend was mainly on 2 and 4 lane highways. My speed varied between 45 and 75, and I had a mix of riding upright and tucked in.

I wanted to see how my fuel usage compared to other Kat owners.

Well, I don't usually run the tank completely down, I usually fill up once the gas gauge gets to the red zone, which is usually around 3.5 gallons. If I've been riding in town, usually like 130 miles, and if I'm running highway, about 170 miles.

I believe the tank is 5 gallons, so theoretically you could run nearly 250 miles of straight highway with the tank on reserve, but I've never attempted it.

Not quite sure either. I just run mine til it close to the red zone then take it to the pumps. I don't keep up with the mpg all I know it cheaper than filling up my 2001 Dodge Ram
