i used to do them as youngster, and still had all my stuff, i bought this Tamiya R1 Taira Racing Edition, from a buddy for 15 bucks, and got back into it. i forgot how much i enjoyed doing them. Just finished it the day b4 yesterday.
i did fender elim. and integrated rear turnsignals on it. i didnt do front flushies cause im gonna do that on another one....
the part that sucks is all the detail work gets covered up, lol the engine alone was 25 pieces  but luckily alot of the body work is screwed instead of glued, so you could show it off if you wanted. the wheels, kickstand, and handbars all move.
i just ordered a YZR-M1 (#46 Rossi) and a street R1 kits.(to do a replica of my R6, its the only street yamaha Tamiya makes)

well heres the pics. not bad i think for being out of it for a few years.... :dunno:

Did you have to paint it also? I have a 1929 hotrod that has taken me so far 2 years to build.
yeah. of course! i used GM medium pewter metallic, (same color as my SS) the pics blow the metallic out of proportion, its not a lowrider/bassboat paint job :lao in real life the metallic isnt that promanant....
2 years EEK! this one took me a week and a half. 1-2 hours after work each day...

very nice STANG KILLLA SS,

sometimes in the winter a diy job is a bit more exciting then reading or reasearch . f^&$^ the TV

I was following the soda can sport bike DIY and i also saw a picture of a dad make an easter egg (egg shell) racer for the kids school contest in one of the filthy british sport bike mags this week. good ideas but thank you very much for the link on the hobby models http://www.hobbylinc.com/prods/scq.htm

Unless you look at the picture real closely you would think it really was the real thing.

cheers,
m.ad.
