This is what I came up with, I think it is still considered a zx7r. '96 to present are ALL zx7r's.

Haynes Manual 2054 - Kawasaki ZX750 (Ninja ZX7 & ZXR750) Fours (89 - 96)
Covers: UK ZX750H (ZXR750) 748cc 89 - 90 / USA ZX750H (Ninja ZX-7) 748cc 89 - 90 / UK ZX750J/L (ZXR750) 749cc 91 - 96 / USA ZX750J/L (Ninja ZX-7) 749cc 91 - 95 / UK ZX750K/M (ZXR750R) 749cc 91 - 94 / USA ZX750K/M (Ninja ZX7R) 749cc 91 - 95

Actually, you do have a ZXR750, but it is not an R model. ZX-7's were produced as the regular base model for '89 thru '95 with a couple of model changes. The ZX-7R was produced in '91 and '92 for the previous model and '93 only for those models. The R models featured the close ratio tranny, aluminum gas tank, flat slides, hopped up suspension, etc.. It was produced in limited numbers for that year only. When the new model came out in '96, the base model was designated ZX-7R (ZXR750R = European designation) and they again produced a souped up version known as the ZX-7RR in '96. The easiest way to tell an R or an RR from the rest is the factory solo tail section that does not have a rear seat.

You're bike is a '95 ZX-7 (ZXR750), not the R model. Just thought you might like to know.

hey man..

nice meeting you up at SA the other day

your bike is a zx7 or xzr750 whatever you watn to call it.

there was a zx7r in 94, and maybe in 95. that bike had flatside carbs, aluminum tank, adjustable swingarm mount and a solo tail, no way to put a rear seat on it.

i thought the same thing at first when I got mine. i have a link at home that explains it all.

what is going on here is that many of you are confusing the european model designation w/ the US model designation. thus, you're thinking that the "r" in the euro designation means that it is an "r" model otherwise known as the "race" model... it is not.
a zxr750 in europe is a zx7 in the states
a zxr750r in europe is a zx7r in the states

what it says on the tach is zxr... not zx7r. this is probably because the tachs were all the same rather than being different for euro and US models. i imagine if they were going to use a different tach for the US it would have said ZX

if you'll look at the link i posted... "there was no R in '95"

horsepower ratings (at the crank) and weight:

91 & 92 zx7 = 100 hp and 195kg / 91 & 92 zx7r = 121 hp and 190kg
93 thru 95 zx7 = 119 hp and 205kg / 93 & 94 zx7r = 121 hp and 200kg

to ease confusion... those in the know refer to them as J models vs. K models for the 91 and 92 years and L models vs. M models for 93-95 years as to not even get into the R or R'nt it discussion.

THIS IS ALL MADE VERY CLEAR IN THE LINK I POSTED
