I was wondering if anyone has ever installed one of those "cigarette lighter type" of plug-ins on their bike? You know the ones that you plug your cell phone or charger into. I was looking at installing it in the tail section trunk space.

I'll be boing to Sturgis in a couple weeks, and I was thinking if I install one of these. Then while I'm out riding around I can have my digital camera or cell phone charging in my trunk. Last year when I went, I really had to conserve the battery life on my digital camera, even with two batteries, and I didn't get to take all the pics that I wanted to. Just looking for a solution.

it'll work.. you can usually buy them at autozone or a store of the like.

just wire it in to the main fuse circut. that way devices plugged into it wont drain the battery when the bike is off.

Yep, the previous owner of my bike had one put in, works well too except it drains battery like quicker so I have the set-up "un-hooked" until I would need it.(no use ofr it now, but when I have a liscense, it might be benificial) I could take a picture of it if you want, just let me know and I can have it up by tomorrow.

If you can not get it installed in a timely manner beofre your trip, put an extra set of batteries in your jacket pocket. You staying for a few nights or just a one day thing?

I'll be up there Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I've got a standard battery for my digital camera plus a better battery with more than double the life over the standard, but with all the bikes, tits, and ass around up there, the camera gets a pretty good workout. I know I'll have to recharge each battery at least once just to be safe. Plus I'm sure my cell phone will need one quick charge at some point.

I guess I could always hook up a switch going to the plug-in so that it can be fully turned off when not in use.

I have a cable connected to my battery for my Gerbing jacket liner. I found an adpter the doubles the output connections from this cable. One of the adapter uses the SAE connector for my Gerbing and the other connector is a cigar lighter plug. I plug the power supply for my CD player into this. I found the adapter cables here; http://www.powerletproducts.com/ I use their powermate connector to keep everything in my tank bag.

This place has some neat thing too.
