I'm for sure not one of those who will tell you that what I got is the best there is; at times it might not even be something I would recommend and so is the Shoei RF-1200. I know it's a very popular helmet, probably due to it's low price and the Shoei logo. It might as well be that it's very safe, but I hope to never find that out... I will share my experience with my Shoei RF-1200.
I decided to get this helmet because of more then one reason; it got excellent revues (most likely from people who are the opposite of who I am - those who tend to believe that their gear is the best), second, because of the company notoriety and third because of the photocromic screen. I expected a very low noise helmet which will be great for moto-vlogging, be safe, look decent and eliminate the need for shades. What I got is the safety (?), the nice shape, confort and the best part is the photocromic screen which is AMAZING. This being said, it's loud and can't be used for vlogging. Just my two cents and keep that in mind. I adjusted the screen to close tight, but the noise comes from underneath, from the neck and if I turn my head side-wise, it gets a bit less noisy.
