I have an underground parking spot, with no electrical outlets in sight. The space is dark and thus difficult to work in.

I surely do not want to suck power off of my car battery to feed my free-standing utility light, so I am looking for alternative methods of lighting. Trying not to spend a fortune. What do you guys suggest?

i don't have power in my garage either, last time i was forced to do work in there i used a Coleman propane camping lantern, a good LED headlight, and another LED flashlight. it sucked, but i got the job done (NAPA rebuilt alternator shorted and cooked its wire harness, required removing intake manifold to replace).

if you are gonna be doing a fair bit of work down there, I'd suggest a small invertor generator, and a plug in work light. not a small investment, but both can come in very handy when the power is down.
