Never thought I'd say that, but I am. Damn thing won't start after I worked on it (started fine right after it crashed, then about 3 weeks to a month later completely different story). All the wiring I've tested is good, plugs fired but I replaced them anyway, put in new fuel, made sure it was coming out the tank, choke and throttle cables are connected, tried starting fluid and it still wouldn't work! Don't have anything to check the compression and I don't think that sitting for 3 or 4 weeks could change it that much.

Finally checked the battery and it goes down to ~10V when I try to start it, so I gotta buy a charger. Damn. It was the first thing I was gonna test, but every time I'd reach for the VOM my father would absolutely insist that it couldn't possibly be the battery and since the bike's in his garage I tried to keep peace.

Yeah, I gotta get a second bike AND a place with a garage. Only problem is that I'd have to fight the yuppie professor types for a place with a garage and pay 2 to 3x what I am now in rent :(.

I'm about to go buy a charger now. I'll probably need it after I get back in August too, so might as well get one.

Rent for a 2br apartment starts at $550 and can go well over a thousand. a 3br house starts at $1,200, and not all of those have garages (especially at that price). My parents don't even have a garage, the bike is just in the storage building. Barely enough room to walk around it.

Yeah, the cheap rent and being less than a mile from work has kept me in a garageless apartment.

Battery is charging now. Charger is automatic with cross connect protection.

Wow That Sucks ! At Least The Rent Is Cheap Over There Where You Are !
No kidding, you oughta try living in southern California. Rent is absolutely ridiculous. Right now I'm in a two bedroom apt. without a garage (carport only) and the rent is $1,050. Wish I could rent a house for $1,200 at this point.

well although the rent appears cheap it matches the income potential in this area. Basically to us thats any rent( rent not mortgage) thats $800+ is viewed as high. So you rent may look higher but you have a better chance at getting a job to afford said rent.

SHE RUNS! All I have to do until I leave is pack and ride, so you won't see a whole lot of me! Lesson: Never listen to your parents.

I'm going to look into buying a bike in HI and either selling it or shipping to San Diego and riding it home. That would be sweet.
