Well, I've been looking for a good unit to record while riding around. So, I got this...

Nice little review...

POV 1.5M Motorsports Helmet Video Camera and System | V.I.O.

$650, it's water proof up to 1 hour in 1 meter of water (3ft), dust-proof, and shock resistant. If you check some of the videos out on youtube of just normal people having them. They hold up VERY well.

...Man I wish I had your dollars to up and spend carelessly...
...And BTW I didn't mean "carelessly" to be interpreted as "foolishly"...
...Just that that sort of extra spending money would be nice to have...

I'm pretty jealous, they're good recording units, but expensive. Quality is decent, but it's very practical when you think about all the features it has. Even has good sound recording quality for when you want to do in helmet narration. A lot of Motovloggers use this unit, mainly people from the UK.

They're durable too, fun to take out in the rain or dirtbike recording.

A YouTuber, svengalie, uses this unit on the norm. His latest video of him you can find here: YouTube - Motorcycle: 40mph Wet Bridge Crash

He has a ton of videos where he uses the POV 1.5, but he also has a couple other recording units. Search through his videos for more example footage with this camera.

Some other motovloggers that use this unit are danmoto73, Alflington, bluenapalm123, DashTube1, and spadastunter.

PS, if you end up not using the unit as much as you would like to and want to sell the unit for a pretty decent price, PM me :)

I borrowed one of those from a friend before buying my go-pros. The only advantage they have is the screen.

The video quality is the same or worse, battery life is about even, but the go-pro takes half as many, and the go-pro doesn't have a big heavy box with a wire that's always just a little too short to put the camera where you want it. Oh, and you can buy 3 go-pros for the same price.

I hear the Go-Pros are great.

Looks like a nice unit though, I like the camera setup on that but the box may be limiting no? Thats ok you can always get a new wire "hopefully"

enjoy and post up some great vids.

EDIT - THANKS FOR GETTIN MY BUTT IN GEAR - ABOUT TO PICK UP A NEW GO-PRO FOR $160. MY LOCAL DEALER IS VERY GOOD TO ME.

^^^^^ ahaha :D

That video reminded me of how easy it is to lose the front in the rain ... my knee still hurts from learning this the hard way :)
Yeah a knobby tire on wet wood will wash out on you if you panic and hit it from a car coming at you. Duh
