My hooptie bike had been stored outside before I purchased it and some of the metal parts are in need of some TLC.

Does anyone have any tips on shining up/polishing parts like the rear sets, muffler hanger or any other metal part that may be weather beaten?

If it is just bare metal, pick up some Mother's polish and some steel wool, start with the coarse stuff then get to fine, until the rust comes off, then polish away.

Use a degreaser like Simple Green first then hose bike down.

Most of those parts your talking about on your Kawasaki are anodized. Wont do you any good to try to clean them up. You can try to polish them up with mothers but I doubt it will get you anywhere. Best bet is to just take them and get them re-anodized or have them powdercoated. should cost the same either way
