See below. As far as actual engine work, this model had some of the batch of weak head studs that came up in 1993, so those were replaced at about 20,000 miles. I've been through two sets of valve guide seals; the first replaced at 60,000, the second at 100,000. The alternator bearing failed at 122,000 miles, and we put in new piston rings at that time as well.
Bought it new 10-17-04 with only 3 miles... other than 1 broken clutch cable at 65k, a modified CCT to keep it from rattling, and a few warped front brake rotors, everything is 100% original. Motor/trans/clutch.... never been touched except for maintence stuff. Still running like a champ!! :boink I'm riding it up to Deals Gap at the end of August... no worries
