TLR is up on horsepower and torque but the SV1000 weighs less and will handle better out of the box compared to the TLR. The TLR has a higher top speed as well. If you put an aftermarket race shock and damper on the TLR it'll handle significantly better then stock.

Not sure if it's because I'm a better rider or not but I ride my SV with a guy who has a TLR and I smoke him through the twisties. He isn't even in my rearviews anymore. As for straight line performance when we get on it I have no problems keeping up with him.

what were the specs for the TLR? The TLR was before my biking days. I have wanted to ride one though. I love my SV1000s. But would also love to ride an RC-51. Love the v-twin power.

there are some topics there. People tend to say that sv1000 is easier to ride.
The Tlplanet people say TLR is better because it takes more skillls to ride (bike with more character). I think one that's easier to ride is better, so that's sv1000.
