Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe I'm overthinking it. I just don't get how the helmet lock on my 250R works. I have a helmet.... I have a lock that has a little bar that goes from left to right on it. What goes behind, around, or on the bar to lock the helmet to it? I thought ok, maybe the little metal buckle on the strap can go in there, but the helmet would have to dangle from the lock by the strap if that was right... and the helmet would rest on the hot exhaust.

put d-ring in it and lock. Helmet is worthless if this strap is cut to steal the helmet. The helmet should sit far enough from the exhaust to keep it from affecting the integrity of it. They can take quite a bit of heat.

DON'T RIDE WITH HELMET ON THIS LOCK... wear it!!

If you have a 2-fiddy (like me) its useless....
First it's almost impossible to get it through the D-ring because of the size and location. Secondly I've heard stories of the exhaust melting lids because the hook is SO badly placed.
My advice, carry it with you.

I'll try it out on mine, but if the helmet doesn't have some clearance from the pipe I'm not hanging it there. I guess most bikes I've seen (sport bikes anyways) either don't have a pipe on the left side or the lock is higher.
