To make a long story short I need a new rear sprocket. The previous owner said he put a 520 chain on the bike but I want to be sure before I go and order a new sprocket.

All I can really say it's gold/yellow in color and may have been the cause of at least 1/2 the teeth on my rear sprocket sheering off.

BTW: What's up with having to re-register?

if the chain is stock any bike shop should be able to tell you what size chain your bike uses. if not the size of the sprocket should be stamped on the rear sprocket and chain size should match.

you might want to replace the chain and sprockets if the back is chewed up bad.

Alright, I think I found it. The rear sprocket is an AFAM 45 tooth. It has a part number stamped on it of 15405-45. I went on AFAM's website and cross referenced that part number. Turns out that specific sprocket is made for only 520 chains. Thanks for your responses.
