For those of you not running rear turn signals, how are you mounting your plate?

Looking for the cleanest solution. I was just considering going to home depot and buying a couple piece of metal and drilling holes myself.

why would u not run rear turn signals? but if thats what u really wanna do then get a piece of scrap sheet metal, cut it, bend it, drill it and ur done. Doesnt seem real smart to not have turn signals though (provided this bike is intended for street use)...just my 2 cents

It would, they would just be integrated into the brake light.

get an undertail kit...my signals are attached to the plate bracket that came with the kit and the signals can be easily removed if you are going integrated....
and yeah, I know...not the smartest place to put the lid...:bitchslap

Signals are a non-issue for me since they are molded into the plastics .. but I used a eliminator kid to lose the fender and the likes. Most of those allow bikes with normal signals to remove or relocate them.

Here's mine I know I'm going to get flamed for it a bit, but I like it. keeps it nice and clean underneath. No it does not touch even at full lean, yes my tire has a flat spot(there's too many straight roads around here), and no you can't get one, it's one of a kind made for me by my brother in college.

Not that I want one, but im curious how its mounted....is it a flat aluminum plate bolted or welded to the swingarm?

Had an idiot other day "Man you need to hit some curves dood you got a flat spot"...
Yup, happens when you take 300-400 mile rides, in 8 hours:)
Or when you just ride for an hour or two on one long, straight, boring road:)

Oh yeah, reconsider turn signals?

This was a 15 dollar bracket from ebay, some cutting, and 16 dollar lights from a stealership, and the lights are prolly 2 or 3x brighter then stock incandesents. 1157's...

the undertail is hotbodies but the pivoting plate kit came from competitionwerks. they sell it with one of their kits so i e-mailed them and told them i needed just the mounting kit. sent it to me for $50.. doesnt come with a warranty though cuz its being used in a form it was not meant to be. i think its one of the best things ive gotten for the bike. you need to rivet the plate mount to the pivoting bracket and then i just pulled out the battery, drilled through 2 holes (that you cant see at all) and mounted the bitch with 2 bolts. I am totally useless with tools too and i was able to do it so if i can do it anyone can.
they also have a bottom mount that semi-pivots with a roller on the top. i did some back-and-forth emailing with the people at competition werks, who were extremely helpful and they were able to pick out the right one for me.

you can e-mail them at

[email protected]

Shawn was the name of the kid i dealt with so if you want tell him i sent ya and hopfully he will remember.

here are some pics from their site that i showed him to explain what i want

actually, correction.... i orginally drilled the holes under the battery but that was too far back and when my fat ass sat on the bike the plate was completely horizontal. i then moved the 2 holes further up which worked out better

shit, while im at it here is my plate light :

and its hard to get a good pic of it in action but here you go:
