Yeah, that was one of those stories that just kinda tears at the heart.

Life is not something to be messed with. Too many people in this world have yet to realize this, I wish somehow this could be taught in school, but it's something that just has to be experienced, to learn from it. That's what we should all do, the accident was obviously not his fault, not to let the "gear monster" come out again, but if he had been wearing gear, it's a good bet he wouldn't have ended up near as bad in the wreck. The broken wrist, and other broken bones probably couldn't have been helped too much though, I know that from experience, appendages are expendable in this sport.

I just hope someone learns from this, and decides they aren't invincible, and maybe decides to better prepare themselves for the inevitable, a crash.
