I know that the 929 mirrors have a shorter stem than the F4i and 954 mirrors. I believe the F4i/954 mirrors are a 4" stem and the 929 mirrors are a 3" stem. Are they compatibile? I'm in the market for a set of mirrors, they're a little keyed up from rocks and debris from the highway.

I like the idea of having ligher, shorter-stemmed mirrors.

I just bought a new right side mirror for my 954 from www.denniskirk.com for $23 and it is shorter style.

I checked other places too and all of the 929/954 aftermarket mirrors are the "shorty" style and they are compatable between the 929/954. The only way to get the 4" mirror that I found is to buy the $70 OEM replacement from www.bikebandit.com

Edit: Since you have an f4i, I'm not positive if they are compatable, but I am positive the 929/954 are the same.

I checked the Emgo part numbers on each and the manufacturer does have different part numbers for the 954, but the f4i and 929 are the same.

I think the RC51's mirrors are also compatible. I actually found an auction on eBay that's selling "shorty" style mirrors just for the F4i and RC51. Obviously not OEM. I didn't want to spend the money on OEM mirrors. Doesn't make sense, IMO.

I concur...its all about the mounting and I think most of the honda's from the 2000-current use the same mirror mount. Did you see my second post? I think the only reason the 954 has the different part # is because of the 4" stem, but when I got it in the mail it was a "shorty". Ehhh...whatever.

If you get on e-Bay, when someone advertises mirrors for a 600f4i most also state 929/954 in the title. Call your dealer. I bought the carbon fiber mirrors for my bike on e-Bay for $44 ($59 w/shipping). I went to the dealer and had one priced oem was $101. I said thanks but no thanks. He recommended e-Bay.
