I have a Honda 5.5 gx160 motor with a gx390 carb and I ported the head, so alot of air, but I've drilled out the main jet as much as I can and still it runs very lean. I have a pulse fitting behind the carb made for a pulse fuel pump . my question is if I get a pump will it be enough fuel?

Also while adjusting valve clearance I noticed that the exhaust valve partially opens on the compression stroke I read that this is only to help starting and does not open once running. I'm not sure if this applies to this motor though I don't know if the trimming got fucked up somehow but it seems to run fine, just very very lean
