im not so "new" but been outta riding for about 5 years now..

so i got back on with a riffer 900

(1996 suzuki rf900)

bikes currently a pile of parts, (since yesterday) goin through and repaining everything.. the **** purple and flamboyant stickers really suck...

I was stationed at Dyess AFB way back ~'63. Had a GF there and one day we went to Fair Park--never forgot the place. She used to live at 1210 S. Crockett.

When I was there I bought my first high-power rifle---a Savage 7mm Rem. Mag. I used to drive out in the boonies somewhere and blast chunks of sandstone? from the side of a hill ~100 yds. away. The pieces fell down to the bottom. No idea where it was, but that was some fun shootin'.

Out here in the Arizona desert the rocks are granite, and it doesn't do much when you whack it.

i jsut noticed i grew up n tucson..
i ended up in abilene because while stationed down at FT hood (the butthole of texas) my wife went to mc murry up here and got her degree.. ehr dad was also stationed at dyess..
now im kinda here for a little while til we are moved out and about again!

hey dammitmitchell how is abilene for riding? You happen to know of anyplace that rents sportbikes, like a cbr600rr? Im gonna be working there for a few weeks and was hoping to find a bike to kill some time on one of my few days off...

Thanks for the info. Wasn't too optimistic about finding any rentals... even in a big city its hard. I was just missin my bike.....
Yeah we're cleaning the outside of the turbines. I'm one of those guys hangin on ropes.
