Best movie, ever.

I love these kinds of movies like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Lots of very nice choreographed fight scenes and the cinematography is amazing. A movie with a bit of romance for the ladies and more than enough fight scenes for us guys.

The movie, starring Jet Li, is mainly a flashback before the climax nearer the end.

Subtitles are easy to follow for the average person.

Don't want to spoil the ending, but it could have been better IMO.

And I don't know why they say in the commercials that Quentin Tarintino has anything to do with it, the movie was made 2 years ago overseas, I guess he sponsored it or something for over here.

Definitely recommended.

I'm the opposite. I thought Crouching tiger was a complete POS. Bad, no- make that cheesy special effects (gotta love the peter pan style of flying, can almost see the wires), a plot as interesting a watching paint dry, and it's easy to forget that movie ever happened.
I guess if you're feeling all multi-culti, then you can feel enlightened by typical asian fantasy films. But it's like watching the horrible 'baliwood' films out of india. A cultural curiosity at best, but pretty bad film making by US standards.

I used to love that style of film.. all old kung-fu movies had people flying/spinning around :lol It doesn't entertain me that much anymore.. I kinda liked Hero though.. but if I HATE that kind of ending, makes me regret ever watching it.

I may be mistaken, but I think QT directed it overseas? Saw a special with him and Jet Li, I think QT was def. involved in the making of the film.

I love the Shaw Brothers Kung Fu style movies:
Five Deadly Venoms
Kid with the Golden Arm

those rule.

no qt had nothing to do with the film I saw an interview with him in it and he said that mirimax paid him to "promote" it. he was talking about how he's a huge fan of kung fu and this is one of the best he's ever seen and that means everyone else should see it to.

Speedracer, I was just going to add another Aisan movie to this list, and then you showed up. If anyone here has never seen Shaolin Soccer - it's awesome.

I'm gonna go see Hero, it looks pretty good.

I saw a commerical that had QT's name on it, so I wasn't expecting what I got. Awsome cinematography....but not my type of movie.

I'm in China...
FYI. Shaolin Soccer is the worst movie ever made...
Anyway Hero is obviously made for the People's Republic because the message is pure propoganda(much like many Hollywood films). The Emperor takes by force because he's really a benevolent type of guy who just wants the best for his peeps. Gimme a break. Anyone else see the parallel to real China? As for flying and mythical sword prowess...it's about as real as expending 20,000 rounds at a few heroes hiding behind a sheetrock wall and not hitting them.
