So I bought this stupid SPY 5000m alarm for my new R1 "new to me" and I hate it. It has a feature where the alarm re-arms itself after being unarmed for 30 seconds...............:bangdesk That means you can't wash it, can't work on it, can't RIDE IT without the alarm going off.

This alarm was meant to be wired with a useless remote engine start and engine kill. I don't care about these features but apparently I have to wire the ignition in order for it not to re-arm after 30 seconds when I want to actually ride it.

So, my question is, how can I wire this POS up without the remote ignition/engine kill. I don't want this chinese junk anywhere near my ignition/engine kill.

So far I have wired:
both yellows to the turn signals
both blacks, one to battery and one to frame. Can they both go to battery?
Red to positive terminal on battery
Brown spliced into wire going to ignition fuse.

Is this all I need to do to get the alarm features without the stupid features?

Thanks- Super frustrated, theadamie

If you hate the alarm so much why even bother with it? I feel like alarms on sport bikes are really gimmicky.

Cheap aftermarket alarm systems are only good for one thing, getting you stranded at the most inconvenient time.

If you really want an alarm, get a GOOD one. That POS will not stop even a lousy thieve.
