Hello,

So I was cleaning my bike today and noticed this...

This is the rubber hose that plugs into the tank (part 702).
The upper end plugs into the tank with the clip.. where is the bottom end supposed to go.. is this just for drainage, or does this plug in somewhere? If it is not suppose to plug in, where it is supposed to go? Right now it's just hanging and could hit the chain..

Sorry if this is a stupid question.. i looked at the manual and couldn't figure it out!

Thanks

The tank vent hose should be routed down near the right hand side of the rear shock away from the chain.

Thanks rocket, it just seemed odd to me because I took the tank off last week to change the plugs and wasn't sure if maybe something came loose.. Just never really notice it before and it seemed odd just hanging there. thanks!

to the right of the battery there is a hole in the battery box that it goes in.
+1 - the hole is for the hose, and helps keep it out of the way of things. It is a vent, so just make sure it is not pinched else the tank may not vent properly.

ya know, mine is not pinched but when its in the sun it has made a whistling sound like its not venting..... but the tube is fine. idk what to think
Like Brandon said the sound you are hearing is caused by the gasoline fumes expanding from the heat of the sun hitting the gas tank. If the vent wasn't working properly it could possibly not be a good situation.
