so, if i ride my bike regularly, the brakes seem to be fine and hold good. but, if the bike sits for more than 2-3 weeks or so, both front and rear brakes need to be bleed...

not sure where to start. master cyclinder, lines, calipers.... i just find it odd that both front and rear seem to acting the same and this all started about the same time for both brakes.

bike is an 06' ninaj 636 with approx 30,000 miles on it.

thanks for any thoughts. just looking for some direction to look at first before i just go spending money to replace parts if they may still be good.

Use a zip-tie around the bar and lever and look for brake fluid an hour later.

Hang a weight from the rear lever and repeat.

There's a shot that both masters need to be rebuilt as well.

I literally chased the same problem with my front brakes last year. I replaced pretty much every part in my front brake, until I found that the hose clamp on the tube to the reservoir cup was shit. I spent about $500 chasing a $5.00 problem. Oh well, I have a better Brembo master for both my race and street bikes.
