I have never seen Jacksonville this bad before.

Every Marine stationed here was trying to get on base at the same time for accountability formations after the holiday weekend.

The traffic went all the way from the front gate through the city. Of course I had to be wearing my jacket too, so I was roasting the entire hour and a half it took me to get to the gate.

I learned long ago to NEVER be on the roads or in the traffic during long-week-ends. Sure I would do a lot of m/c competition, but would travel to the place to compete a day in advance & travel a day or two after the heavy traffic.

As for riding a m/c on long week-ends that was a NO-NO in my books as to many m/c & cage accidents.

Take it from someone that has been riding & driving for 59 yrs. Though I am old the reason I got this far is in playing it safe.
