Just to let the gun enthusiasts on here know, theres some great prices (for present time I mean) on AIM, ammotogo, and gunbroker.

Picked up some x39 from AIM, got here in about 4 days, and just ordered more.

Thought Id share the info.

Sure you can get it cheaper online, but where are you going to fondle guns when your local FFL goes under? I prefer to buy it locally. Most shops will give you discounts for buying in bulk that are close to if not less then online.

I patronize my LGS' as much as I can, but when theyre asking $17.99 for a box of 9mm compared to $10.99 on the net, you bet I will be buying it online. If the price differences are a few bucks, yeah I will definitely buy at my LGS, but most prices are increased anywhere from 4-10$.

All the shops around me dont haggle, and none will decrease their prices on bulk. Ive asked already. Most say it will come out to the same price per box, there is no price reduction.

lol. Are you serious! When was the last time you've been to a gun store? They are PACKED to the gills running with very low stock on weapons and ammo. Obamma has a new group fans - he has been great for biz.

Exactly why I went with a 9mm instead of .40 or .45. Not only are those 2 calibers very diffficult to find nowadays, theyre like $10-15 more than 9mm. Fuckin crazy.
Same here, that's why I only have a 9mm pistol and a .38 revolver right now.

My next pistol purchase will be a CZ SP01,again in 9mm for target, training and some competition shooting.

I would absolutely love to get another Colt 1911 style .45 ACP,but only if I started reloading again and only when/if loading components come back down within reason other wise it may be a very long time before I own another .45.

Heck,I've even been considering buying a .410/.45LC double barrel derringer or Taurus Judge(may be too bulky) as a carry/self protection gun.

It really depends on where you are located, and the guns shops you have local to you. Where I am there are probably 10 gun shops within a 30 minute ride. Problem is they don't carry a big stock of ammo, and NONE will haggle on any prices but used guns. When the people who WORK THERE tell me "Hey check out this website for ammo, it's A LOT cheaper"...well there you go.

They are making money hand over fist here, and their prices show that.

I've had my eye on a certain handgun for a good bit. I talk to this guy at the shop probably once a month when I stop by. Back in like May / June we negotiated a price. He told me the next one he got in equipped like I wanted, he'd call. So months pass. I honestly forget about until last month. I run into a friend who just bought the EXACT gun I wanted. He told me what he paid, and he bought at the place I frequent. I went in and asked about it. The guy (who I have known for YEARS and send TONS of business his way) told me at first they hadn't got one in like I wanted. When I called him on that...

He told me he'd get me one "Special Ordered". When it came to price, it was right at $100 HIGHER than we agreed upon a few months ago. Same gun. Nothing has changed. When I asked why the price hike, he told me the price with the manufacturer had gone up...I had already checked that...NOPE.

I'll stick to online thanks.

LOL .40/.45 are not hard to find at all. Just with the Obama scare the bullets went up (obviously)
But the way I see it is if your gonna have to use it, might as well make sure it does the job!

I used to be a 9mm man, but kinda got spoiled with the Para Ordnance P-14-45 Limited. Talk about accuracy! I can shoot a flys balls off with it! 14 rounds of .45 with no jams baby! Ever see the 1000 round test? Here it is. YouTube - ParaOrdnance 1000 rounds test

Yeah, I'm all about supporting the local businesses, but if you're gonna f*ck me at least kiss me first.

9mm fmj bulk ammo (Fed Eagle) at my LGS is in the high $20s/box. This is about 2x what you can get in even a pretty big-time store like Cabelas. I know that the smaller places have more overhead than the b***** places and need to make up for the lower volume, but damn...

I can tell you that I would shoot a lot more if I could just go to the place and buy ammo without feeling like I got robbed.

I picked up 500 rounds of 7.62x54R from Ammoman for about $130 a few years back. Not sure what it's going for now.
